chapter eight

1. How does what the doctor first says, on page 119, foreshadow Johnny's condition?

The doctors foreshadow that Johnny's condition by saying he can't see anyone, but he wants to see his friend, but hes in a lot of pain.

2. "We needed Johnny as much as he needed the gang. And for the same reason" (p.121). What do you think Pony means, and what is the reason?

I think pony boy means that Johnny means just as much to him as the gang does, and that's a lot, and if he dies then, the gang won't be like it was.

3. What does Pony mean on p. 123 when he says, "we could get along without anyone but Johnny"?

Ponyboy means when he says, "we could get along without anyone but Johnny" that if johnny dies it would be really different, but if someone else were to die , like Darry or Two-Bit , it would still pretty much me the same and they would still get along.

4. If Darry didn't have Soda and Pony, why would he be a soc?

If Darry didn't have Soda and Ponyboy he would be a soc because hes got everything he needs to be one, accept money, but if it weren't for them he would of stayed in school got a job and probally would of had money to be a soc.

5. What does Cherry mean when she says Bob "wasn't just anyone" on p.129?

Cherry means when she said, "Bob wasn't just anyone", that he wasn't like all the other guys, and you couldn't replace him.
