chapter seven

1. Explain what Pony means when he says Soda "reminds me of a colt" on p. 101.

Pony boy means when he says Soda "reminds me of a colt", like a really pretty horse (colt), because of his good looks.

2. What condition is Johnny in after the fire?

Johnny was in critical condition after the fire. He had a broken back and had third-degree burns. Johnny could also not feel anything below his waste, and was gonna be crippled for the rest of his life.

3. Why would being crippled be worse for Johnny than someone else?

Being crippled would be worse for johnny then someone else, because he has no family that would help him take care of himself. If it was Ponyboy, Sodapop or Darry crippled then they would have each other to help take care.

4. "Maybe people are younger when they are asleep" (p.104). what do you think about this comment?

I think that this comment, is true , and its saying that when your asleep , your like a little kid, you don't really worry and you dream about things that you would never think of as a teenager or adult, and that a kid would.

5. What is a juvenile delinquent (p. 107)? Find a definition on the Internet, in a dictionary, or create your own based on your own knowledge.

The definition of a juvenile delinquent is: a minor who cannot be controlled by parental authority and commits antisocial or criminal acts, as vandalism or violence.

6. Why would Two-Bit think Johnny, Dally, and Pony were heroes all along; before they saved the kids?

Two-bit would think that Johnny, Dally, and ponyboy were heroes all along because they're always there for each other, and are always sticking up and helping their friends, and each other.

7. What was Bob's 'real' problem, according to Randy (p.116)?

Bob's 'real' problem according to Randy is, Bob's parents spoiled him so much, and no one ever told him "no".

8. Why did Pony think it was better to see socs as "just guys" on p. 118? What do you think he means by this?

I think pony boy thought it was better to see socs as "just guys", because they were and they were just like any other guy. I think he meant that even though they're socs, not greasers they're still regular guys, not just rich people, that jumped kids.
